“Hi. I wanted to give you some details about my personal history and journey which brought me to this sacred life-work and professional calling. Like many of you my path has been filled with many challenges, perils and hairpin turns. I have overcome many obstacles and personal trials in my life. I was a single mother for many years and went to graduate school as a mid-career professional. I know all the disappointments, betrayals and failures that a human life entails. And I have studied diligently for many years to learn and develop a way to help my clients in dealing with the life issues and struggles that they arrive with at my doorstep upon our first meeting. I meet every person where there are with an open heart and genuine acceptance. I will be honest with you if I believe that I can help you.
My academic training is in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. I earned a PhD in 2016 from Pacifica Graduate Institute in California, after working many years in healthcare and private practice as a licensed Psychotherapist in Florida. My therapeutic approach includes Psychoanalysis, Transpersonal, Existential, Narrative Exposure Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. The primary focus of my practice is treating depression, trauma, sexual abuse, PTSD, bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, and anxiety—with treatment tailored to your specific needs or clinical presentation. I draw from knowledge in meditation, yoga, body movement, hypnosis, somatic, and other techniques for staying relaxed and connected to one’s body as practical tools for coping with patterns of emotional distress. I have been in practice for 15 years and have experience in both the hospital and private practice settings. I have specialized training as a Certified Trauma Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist. I am also a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Clinical Supervisor in Florida, and Psychological Associate in California. My research interests are the influence of philosophy on psychoanalytic theory, and the emerging field of psychedelics, plant medicine and the science of consciousness.
Emotional wholeness is an achievable vision and hope for your life. I can help you move from feelings of shame to greater self-compassion, and offer effective ways to self-soothe and regulate distressing emotions. It is possible to build on your personal strengths and natural gifts to find peace, joy, purpose, meaning, and love in your life and relational world.
