I am a counselor and psychotherapist in private practice in Portland, Maine. I hold a clinical counseling license (LCPC) and received my MA in mental health counseling from Goddard College. My clinical experience includes work with individual, couples, and groups, as well as work in residential substance abuse treatment and as a mental health crisis worker for Cumberland County Crisis.
My practice is particularly informed by the humanistic and existential traditions. I draw heavily from mindfulness, Emotion Focused and somatic approaches, as well as cognitive therapies, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I have trained extensively in Buddhist meditation traditions, in the US and Asia, and I draw on the depth and insight of this experience in my counseling. In practice, this means focusing on awareness, acceptance, and compassion as curative forces. “
